Accredited audit of building notes
As with all architects and designers you have a set of standard building notes that relate to the standards of construction to achieve certain U-values. In our experience there is not one practice which has undergone an audit whose notes are fully up to date and correct due in part to 2 main reasons. Firstly it’s easy to miss the true implication of an update to legislation or forget to upgrade a not much used detail, and secondly rely on building notes that were mainly derived from product technical spec which at best is out of date and quite often incorrect. As the responsibility for checking the design U-values details has shifted from building control to Accredited assessors it makes prudent sense to have them fully audited and amended were necessary.
